AI+I
Semester Project

Behind Closed Eyes
Valeriia Kapustina

“Behind Closed Eyes” investigates how AI can visualise dreams and other sleep phenomena. Dreaming is often associated with strong emotions, disturbing memories, fears and concerns. People find it difficult to understand them. How can a machine do this?

Typewr(AI)ter
Duong Hoang Phuong Nguyen

Typewr(AI)ter is an investigation of ChatGPT's ability to understand fonts and typographic terms and develop unique font ideas that are conceptually and visually sophisticated. Oskar Phuong Nguyen's research project was based on ChatGPT's training. In the following design process, he designed the fonts based on ChatGPT's ideas.

AI Beauty
Marcele Rimoli

This magazine delves into the complex relationship between perceived beauty and artificial intelligence (AI). In this issue, the potential harms associated with the use of AI-generated images of women are explored, urging for responsible and mindful practices.

By shining a critical light on this practice, we aim to stimulate a thoughtful dialogue regarding the ethical considerations, societal impacts, and the imperative need for human oversight in an era where technology seemingly blurs the line between reality and simulation.

Death of the Artist
Marcella Partzsch

Death of the Artist explores artificial intelligence within the realm of art. This semester project showcases a collection of "artworks" throughout the ages; from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance to current contemporary art. It not only tests the limits and capabilities of AI but serves as a deep dive into the question: Is it truly the death of all artists?

Every "artwork" seen in this project was generated by Midjourney. Some look exceptionally familiar, others seek to be more original. The perception of art depends on the individual. This project was an experiment on Midjourney's capabilities as much as it was a test to see if art can truly be made.
